National BSA Raises Traditional Membership Fees $5
Effective January 1, 2010, the traditional membership registration fee for all youth and adults will be $15 rather than its current $10. This change was decided by the national council of the Boy Scouts of America. This increase will affect youth and adults registering in packs, troops, teams and crews, as well as council employees, and council and district volunteers. The entire membership registration fee goes to the National Council and is its primary source of funding.
Over the years registration fees have periodically increased to offset inflation and operating cost increases. The last fee increase was seven years ago, and it rose from $7 to $10.
The $15 prorated fee will become effective for traditional membership (recharter, new, additional registration, or other) with an effective date of January 1, 2010 or later.
Please note that this a national decision, not a Tuscarora Council decision. On behalf of the youth we serve together, thank you for your dedication and support of this council and its programs.
