Order of the Arrow


The Order of the Arrow is part of the official camping program of Boy Scouts of America.  This honor society is made up of elected Scouts and adult leaders. The Tuscarora Council is home to the Nayawin Rar Lodge 296.

Nayawin Rar Lodge is divided into 3 Chapters. These Chapters are:

Allogogan - Wayne County, Torhunta District
To Re WaWaken- Sampson and Duplin Counties, Coharie District
Shaw Rar Ren - Johnston County, Neusiok District

Purpose
The purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:

  • To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives;
  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit;
  • To promote Scout camping; and
  • To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

2012 Upcoming dates for Nayawin Rar Lodge include:

January 20-22: OA Fun Fellowship at Camp Tuscarora
March 2-4: Spring Fellowship at Camp Tuscarora
April 20-22: Section Conclave at Cherokee Scout Reservation
June & July, every Wednesday night: Lodge Call Out Ceremony at Camp Tuscarora
October 5-7: Fall Fellowship and Ordeal Weekend at Camp Tuscarora
