2008 Friends of Scouting Campaign

Friends of Scouting (FOS) is an annual educational and fund-raising campaign for the Tuscarora Council. It provides Scout families and volunteers the opportunity to learn more about and support the Council programs and services that benefit their children and other youth in our community. The campaign runs through the winter and early spring. Donors who give $120 or more receive this special recognition patch that highlights the "friendly" attribute of the Scout Law.

Other Ways to Support the Tuscarora Council

United Way and Combined Federal Campaign
Businesses and government operations in Johnston, Wayne and Sampson Counties give their employees an opportunity to invest in their communities through the annual United Way and Combined Federal Campaigns. The United Way affiliates in these communities support the Tuscarora Council and other vital community programs, and we tremendously appreciate their assistance.

If you work in Wake, Durham or Orange counties, please be advised that the Triangle United Way does not support the Boy Scouts. If you would like to make a gift, please request a donor designation form from your United Way campaign representative or make your gift directly to the Tuscarora Council Office.

Matching Gifts Through Your Employer
Some companies will make matching gifts to non-profits supported by their employees. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company will match your gift to the Tuscarora Council.


Special Events
The Tuscarora Council holds special events throughout the year that increase recognition and raise funds for its programs. These events include golf tournaments, award dinners and more. We strive to keep our costs low so that your support of these events goes directly to program needs rather than event expenses. In fact, many of our events are directly sponsored by local businesses and individuals!
