Family Friends of Scouting Campaign
Friends of Scouting (FOS) is an annual educational and fund-raising campaign for the Tuscarora Council. It provides Scout families and volunteers the opportunity to learn more about and support the Council programs and services that benefit their children and other youth in our community. The campaign runs through the winter and early spring. Donors who give $120 or more receive a special recognition patch highlighting the "kind" element of the Scout Law. Individuals can also give to FOS by contacting the Scout Office at (919) 734-1714 or sending an e-mail to email@example.com.

Friends of Scouting Dinner
This annual dinner kicks off our Friends of Scouting dinner. Invitations are sent to donors who give $250 or more. This event is usually held in March.
Distinguished Citizen Award Dinners
The Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in communities across the United States. Honoring distinguished citizenship delivers a message to our youth that character counts. The lives of distinguished citizens put in place guideposts that serve to inspire our youth to lead, to accept responsibility and to care about principles and causes beyond self-interest. Each year the council honors a local citizen for business leadership, community service and character. This award dinner is a celebration of the honoree's achievements and also a fundraiser for local Scouting programs.
Matching Gifts Through Your Employer
Some companies will make matching gifts to non-profits supported by their employees. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company will match your gift to the Tuscarora Council.
The Tuscarora Council holds special events throughout the year that increase recognition and raise funds for its programs. These events include golf tournaments, award dinners and more. We strive to keep our costs low so that your support of these events goes directly to program needs rather than event expenses. In fact, many of our events are directly sponsored by local businesses and individuals!
Trail's End Popcorn Sale
This annual event raises needed funds to help local Scout units and the council provide outstanding programs for youth in Duplin, Johnston, Sampson and Wayne counties. More than 70% of the proceeds go directly to local Scouting programs.
United Way and Combined Federal Campaigns
Businesses and government operations in Johnston, Wayne and Sampson Counties give their employees an opportunity to invest in their communities through the annual United Way and Combined Federal Campaigns. The United Way affiliates in these communities support the Tuscarora Council and other vital community programs, and we tremendously appreciate their assistance.
For our supporters in Johnston County: The United Way of Johnston County has merged with the United Way of the Greater Triangle. The group now serves community needs in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties. The Tuscarora Council, BSA is now one of its funded programs.
