Tiger Cubs

This program is for boys in the first grade ( or 7-years-old) and their adult partners. Boys and adults are members of a Tiger Cub den that usually meets twice a month for activities built around the Tiger Cub motto, "Search, Discover, Share." All of the adults share in the leadership of the den, with the guidance and support of the Tiger Cub den leader. Tiger Cub dens also take part in monthly pack meetings and other activities. Tiger Cub den activities are based on advancements and electives in the Tiger Cub Handbook

Cub Scouting

This program is for boys in the second and third grades (or who are 8 and 9-years-old). When a boy becomes a Cub Scout, he is assigned to a Cub Scout den. Den meetings are held each week under the leadership of an adult volunteer den leader, usually a parent of one of the boys in the den. There might also be an assistant den leader and a den chief (an older Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or Venturer) helping the den leader. All adult family members are expected to help when called upon to assist with den activities. At den meetings, the boys enjoy games, stunts, songs, crafts and ceremonies. Many of these activities are based on a theme for that month. Cub Scouts also take part in field trips, service projects and outdoor activities.

Webelos Scouting

This program is for boys in the fourth and fifth grades (or who are 10-years -old). These boys are members of a Webelos den. Their den meetings are held weekly, usually in the evenings or on a weekend, under the leadership of an adult volunteer Webelos den leader, usually a parent of one of the boys in the den. There might also be an assistant den leader and a den chief (an older Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or Venturer) helping the den leader. Instead of a monthly theme, the Webelos den program is built around one of the Webelos activity badges. This badges are part of the Webelos advancement program. Parent-son overnight camping is also an important part of the den's program. The Webelos program runs for about 18 months, after which the boys are encouraged to join a Boy Scout troop and continue their Scouting adventure.

Cub Scout Badges

A Cub Scout and his adult partner work on Tiger Cub den activities

based on advancements and electives in the Tiger Cub

Handbook to earn the Bobcat badge

A Cub Scout who is in the second grade (or 8 years old) works on 12

achievements in the Wolf Cub Scout Book to earn the Wolf badge.

After earning the Wolf or Bear badge, the Cub Scout can earn

arrow points by  completing electives in his book. Most Wolf

advancement achievements are completed at home with the assistance of the Cub

Scout's family. Parents approve the completion of  the achievements.

A Cub Scout who is in the third grade (or 9 years old) completes 12 of 24

achievements in the Bear Cub Scout Book to earn the Bear badge.

After earning the Bear badge, the Cub Scout can earn arrow pointsby

completing electives in his book.  Most Bear advancement achievements are

completed at home with the assistance of the Cub Scout's family. Parents approve

     the completion of the achievements.

A Cub Scout who is in the fourth and fifth Grades (or 10 and 11-years-old) complete

the achievements in the Webelos Book to earn their Webelos badge.  Webelos is

broken down into Webelos 1 and Webelos 2.

A Webelos Scout works on requirements for the activity badges in his

den meetings. Completion is approved by the den leader.

These badges are part of the requirements for the Webelos badge and the Arrow of Light,

which prepare him to join Boy Scouting.

Remember that after earning the Bobcat badge, the boy works on the rank appropriate for his age. If he joins in the third grade, he works on Bear and does not earn the Wolf badge.

We further aid in achieving these goals by teaching the ideals of Cub Scouting, which are represented by the Cub Scout Promise, Law and motto.

Cub Scout Promise

I, (your name), promise
to do my best,
to do my duty,
to God and my country,
to help other people
and to obey the Law of the Pack.

Law of the Pack

The Cub Scout follows Akela,
The Cub Scout helps the pack go,
The pack helps the Cub Scout grow,
The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

Cub Scout Motto

Do your best!
